Terms of Use

Effective July 10, 2026 · Covers Iron ID, Pocket Watch ID, Retro Flame ID, and Backstamp (together, “the apps”). Using any of the apps means you accept these terms.

The one thing to understand: the apps produce informational estimates, not appraisals. Identifications and value ranges can be wrong. Never rely on them alone to buy, sell, insure, or authenticate anything.

Estimates, not appraisals

The apps identify collectible items from their markings and show typical collector value ranges. These come from pattern-matching, reference catalogs, and AI analysis of your photo — all of which can misread a mark, misidentify a maker, or reflect out-of-date market prices. An identification or value range is not an appraisal, authentication, certification, or offer to buy, and is no substitute for a qualified professional appraiser. For any decision where money changes hands, get a professional opinion.

Purchases, passes, and subscriptions

Each app offers the same three unlock options, billed through your Apple ID:

Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Prices are in U.S. dollars; the price shown in the app at the time of purchase is what applies in your region. Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us — request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies to your use of the apps.

Fair use

AI identification is subject to a reasonable daily fair-use limit per device, so that heavy automated use by one device doesn’t degrade the service for everyone. Don’t attempt to circumvent it, resell access to the identification service, or use the apps for anything unlawful.

No warranty

The apps are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. AI identification depends on third-party services and may be changed, limited, or discontinued. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for losses arising from reliance on an identification or value estimate; our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim.

Changes

We may update these terms as the apps evolve; material changes will be reflected on this page with a new effective date. Continuing to use the apps after a change means you accept the updated terms.
